Angela Bennett

Services: Integrative psychotherapy for teens and above, DBT skills training, Brainspotting, couples and families

I am passionate about helping people make sense of their experiences and understand the root issues that keep them feeling stuck. I’ve had the privilege of deeply working with individuals and families struggling with trauma, addictions, mental illness, personality disorders, grief, and co-occurring disorders. I have experience in residential, intensive outpatient and outpatient treatment settings as well as in cutting-edge, clinical program design and implementation.

My style as a therapist tends to be curious, compassionate, and direct. I find that being direct allows me to have a more open and authentic relationship with my clients, and helps to facilitate the development of insight. I draw from numerous theoretical approaches, including schema therapy, psychodynamic therapy, polyvagal theory, humanistic therapy, gestalt therapy, internal family systems model (IFS), and the enneagram.  I am trained in brainspotting, an innovative brain-based therapy designed to access and heal unprocessed trauma. I utilize experiential techniques and humor whenever it is appropriate.

I understand how difficult it can be to feel safe and understood in relationships. I strive to provide a warm, compassionate environment in which you can authentically explore yourself, process the emotions that keep you stuck, and discover your strengths and resiliency. I invite those of all gender, sexual, spiritual and relational orientations to work with me and I am also  a secular, LGBTQIA+affirming, and poly-amory affirmative therapist.
