Do you have a yearning to discover, deepen, and celebrate who you are as a sexual being, in ways that are resonant with your deepest values?
The P3 Cohort is a facilitated container where you can dive deeper with a small group of fellow learners. Guided by licensed psychotherapist, Aline Defiglia, and welcoming of all sexual, spiritual or relational orientations, this is a safe(r) space where we invite curiosity, courage, and ownership of our unique backgrounds and sexual and relational journeys.
The Winter 2025 P3 Cohort meets on Thursdays from 9am-11:00 am at The Archway Building 2523 Glass St. Chattanooga TN 37406.
We will meet for six sessions total, with a week break between each module, starting on January 16th and 23rd, (SKIP A WEEK), February 6th and 13th, (SKIP A WEEK), February 27th and March 6th.
Structured around three modules (Pleasure, Power and Purpose), P3 meets for two hours where we practice embodiment, communication, and exploration of each theme. Participants will be extending their learning in between meetings with additional resources, written reflection and practical exercises.
Module 1: Reclaiming Our Pleasure.
For many of us, our sexual journey has been marked by taboo and restriction — what we avoid, rather than what we embrace. We might come from backgrounds that have encouraged us to neglect our bodies, vilify desire, and shun sexual and relational orientations outside of the cis-hetero nuclear family. Our understanding and advocacy for our actual needs and wants can be obscured by the roles we play in our lives, our cultural training, the schedules we keep, shame, trauma, and confusion about pleasure itself.
Together, we will delve into the messages we’ve absorbed, reconsider the paradigms we’ve accepted, and practice how to fully embody the present moment so that we can access and honor our pleasure.
Module 2: Owning Our Power.
This module will address the reality of how our sexual experiences have shaped us and how we can engage in our own, trauma informed, life giving healing process. We will discuss and practice embodied safety so that we can increasingly show up and have the experiences we want in our lives and relationships. We will learn the wheel of consent and practice noticing, validating, and advocating for our needs with both our YES and our NO.
During this module, you will be invited to participate in PLATONIC (clothes stay on, no touching of genitals or breasts, no building/running erotic energy) touch exercises. As with any invitation, you have absolute authority over what you want to do in any moment! Your NO will be just as celebrated as your YES. That being said, I include touch exercises in this cohort because I believe it is one of the most powerful ways to teach the material and empower you to live your best life.
For more information regarding the lineage of these touch exercises, check out Betty Martin’s work here. (Watching the videos are well worth your time! Better yet, start practicing! During this module we will play the Three Minute Game (Video is 14 minutes).
Module 3: Living Our Purpose.
Whether it is purity culture or hook up culture, many of us may have questioned these paradigms in our spiritual and embodied journeys. The path toward a healthier sexuality and practice can seem vague and complex within the ecosystem of our unique internal and external world!
In this module, we will explore approaches to a healthy and integrated sexuality from different wisdom lineages. Depending on the particular interests of each cohort, we may explore Judeo-Christian teachings, Sex and Body Positivity, Polyamory or Consensual Non-Monogamy, Kink, and/or Tantra.
Honoring both our external and internal wisdom sources, we will start to chart the path of our own sexual ethic and goals and how to consciously, safely, and joyfully engage in this journey throughout a lifetime.
What this cohort IS and IS NOT: (REVIEW THIS INFORMATION- IT’S IMPORTANT!)
This cohort IS a safe place to share, if you chose, of your own experience. It is NOT a trauma processing group. If you have any experiences that might strongly impact your ability to participate in group exercises and discussions, please indicate on the inquiry form! Please note that this is a gray area. Most of us have trauma and/or baggage around sexuality which is likely to emotionally activate us. This is not a problem! In fact, as a facilitator, I want to support you to bravely explore the edges of your own comfort level. This is how we heal and grow! All your emotions and reactions are very welcome and a gift to yourself and to group members. That being said, you will need some skills to emotionally regulate yourself, not trauma dump on group members, and be able to ask for help and support as needed. This cohort assumes you have a basic knowledge of your own history, have worked with it and/or are currently working with it, and you can show up with emotional and social insight. If you need it, I am here to help you discern whether this cohort is appropriate for you at this time. Group sessions will be guided by an established set of guidelines and agreements that will help ensure a safe container for all involved.
This cohort is not a space where one particular type of spiritual, relational, or sexual practice will be promoted or endorsed. All the resources and discussions are meant to spur additional reflection and opportunity for growth in each participant. YOU get to choose what you want to take and what you want to leave behind. This group will help you more consciously engage in this process of personal discernment.
This cohort is designed to be transformational, if you let it. This transformation will, in part, be determined by your own level of commitment to showing up over the time we spend together. Showing up is more than just attending the sessions, it’s taking time to reflect, learn, and practice in your own life. Ideally, you will make time to do the work between group sessions, respond to prompts on the WhatsApp thread, etc. This cohort will not give you all the answers, it is meant to inform and inspire a conscious and resourced path over a lifetime. I consider the P3 Cohort an important first taste of conscious sexuality, providing important intellectual, social, emotional, and embodied fundamentals. I am actively working to help design and offer additional deeper dives for this work beyond the P3 cohort.
A testimonial: “The inaugural Conscious Sexuality collective offers a much-needed opportunity in Chattanooga to dive deeper into conscious community with like-minded people! From clear vocabulary, safe(r) space, other cool and curious humans, and some fun embodied games to support respectful platonic touch, this experience is for anyone wanting to grow in their comfortability with being human, setting boundaries, and asking for what they want and need in any area of their lives.”
